# Archlore > Archlore keeps a map of a system's architecture (services, endpoints, tables, external APIs) and the decisions behind it (ADRs), shared by a team and by every AI that works on the code. Its server runs no AI: the user's own assistant does the work, on the user's tokens. Source code never leaves the machine. ## Set it up (for AI assistants) - [Start: step-by-step instructions for an AI assistant](https://app.archlore.dev/start/): sign in with `npx -y archlore@latest login --start --json` then `login --wait --json`; map several repositories as one product with `npx -y archlore@latest workspace . --org "" --json` (one repository: `npx -y archlore@latest . --json`); answer the queued questions with the MCP tools `ai_tasks_next` / `ai_tasks_submit`; record decisions with `propose_adr`. ## Reference - `npx archlore --help`: every command; each takes `--json` and returns a `fix` on failure. - [Ingest contract](https://app.archlore.dev/api/ingest/contract): the JSON schema a hand-written state file must match. - [Boards](https://app.archlore.dev/b/new): draw a diagram together, no account.
